School Name Westpine MS (2052) School Year 2018 - 2019 Professional development and coaching provided to staff As a result of attrition in staff, approximately 19% of our new teaching staff is new to education. They have little to no experience with using our district's tool for collecting, documenting, monitoring student data; i.e. BASIS. Many of them have not been trained on the various interventions that can be implemented to provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 academic and behavioral support for students. In addition, many of our veteran teachers need a refresher to ensure they have the training to provide the aforementioned processes and services with fidelity. Provide staff with additional training on the tools needed during the RtI process; i.e. BASIS. Provide staff training on our school-wide Tier 1 behavioral intervention strategy; CHAMPS. * New teachers will be provided BASIS training as a part of their new teacher activities. Success will be measured from feedback from staff after completing trainings. It will also be measured through teacher's ability to implement our school-wide behavioral intervention strategy, CHAMPS. It will also be measured by monitoring their ability to refer students to RtI using BASIS and using the tools within the system to progress monitor and document interventions and the success or failure of the intervention that are implemented. Building Administrators, Guidance Department, Instruction Coaches, RtI Team 2019-01-07 2019-05-09 Tier 3 academic practices are based on students' needs, aligned with Tier 1 and Tier 2 There has been an ongoing lack of resources to address Tier 3 academic support. In prior years this need has been both human resources and the materials to address the identified academic deficiencies. Last year we designated one of our academic coaches to provide Tier 3 academic support for those students identified through RtI. However, we are still lacking the specific materials needed to provide target support in the areas that have been identified has deficient through assessments; i.e. CMAT. Identify specific supplemental material that can be used to provide Tier 3 intervention in math, for those students who are in the RtI process.
