What elements will be addressed?

The leadership team facilitates PD on multi-tiered instruction and intervention

Why is it occuring?

This is an area of need due to the follow-through and accountability by the leadership team throughout the school year. At the beginning of each school year an initial professional development on multi-tiered instruction and intervention is provided to teacher. Where we fall short as a leadership team, is the follow through, throughout school year.

What are we going to do about it?

To combat this area of concerns, MTSS Professional Developments will now be included in the Pines Middle School PD calendar. MTSS/ RtI meets twice per month.  We are also planning to increase the PD opportunities for the entire staff, as well as embed it into our PLC practices. Professional Developments includes, Project Based Learning and an added step for Social Emotional Learning

Action Plan

To ensure that this becomes embedded into the culture of Pines Middle School.
The process will be reviewed, discussed and scaled up during on-going Professional Developments (PD), Professional Learning Communities (PLC), Curriculum Cuncil Meetings and Department Meetings. Encourage participation

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Data analysis by MTSS/RtI team during bi-month MTSS/RtI meetings. Consistent monitoring of teacher implementation and also monitoring student data, on such programs as i-Ready and Achieve 3000. Follow-through with Admin/Teacher data chats. Monitoring of teacher/student data chats.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Person(s) Responsible

Many of our teacher are not comfortable using/analyzing data. It is our job to increase ALL their readiness levels as it pertains to their own data, as well as their student’s data. Many of our students are unfamiliar with their own data and are not able to fully utilize that information to them bridge the learning gap.

Many of our students are unfamiliar with their own data and are not able to fully utilize that information to them bridge the learning gap.

What are we going to do about it?

Teachers are provided with a verity of in-school and district PD opportunities.
Teachers share BEST practices in their PLC.  Admin meets and discuss teacher and student data during data chats. District personnel per content area provides PD on:
*BASIS
*Canvas
*Share Point
*Etc

Action Plan

Implement a user-friendly data tracking system where the data is easily accessible to teachers and students alike. This system will allow teachers to provide students with the necessary remediation that they need as well as provide others with the enrichment that they require. This will also aid teachers in creating small grouping within the classroom. Admin team and curriculum leaders will monitor for progress and fidelity.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Admin team and curriculum leaders will monitor for progress and fidelity through CWT and data chats. Teachers will monitor through classroom assessments and through small grouping activities. Teachers will be encouraged to share Best practices and ensure that they are fully utilizing the CARE Cycle.
