What elements will be addressed?

The leadership team actively engages in ongoing professional development

Why is it occuring?

The leadership team attends professional development, but not always together.  Also, the team does not typically utilize professional development directed towards RTI.  Last, after attending professional development activities, information isn't always shared with teachers and staff.

What are we going to do about it?

The team will look into attending workshops as a group, or using My Learning Plan or LAB to find professional devlopment oppurtunities.  The team will also consider developing a Professional Learning Community for RTI.

Action Plan

The RTI team will review professional development opportunities.
Administration will recommend learning opportunities through e-mail or LAB.
The team will sign-up for professional learning devolpment or members who attend workshops will share information with the team and teachers.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will use our professional development website to track workshop activites.
Team members who attend professional development will be included on the agendas for staff meetings or Team Leader meetings.

What elements will be addressed?

Educators actively engage families in MTSS

Why is it occuring?

Teachers implement interventions and discuss interventions during parent conferences, but parents are not always invited to RTI Team Meetings.

What are we going to do about it?

Letters will be sent home when students enter the RTI process and at the beginning of each school year informing parents of the RTI process and their ability to be included in meetings.

Action Plan

Letters will be written and signed by the Principal.
At the beginning of each year, the RTI team will use BASIS to identify students who are currently on Tier 2 or Tier 3 of the RTI process.  Letters will be sent when meeting with teachers to review/revise the intervention plan.
When students begin the RTI process during the school year, the letter will be sent at the first meeting.
We will continue to include parents in meetings or have phone conferences during meetings to get adiitional parent input as needed.  We will also add parents to the RTI team on BASIS.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will monitor the number of letters sent home and track the number of parents who attend RTI meetings.
