What elements will be addressed?

Tier 1 behavior practices identify school-wide expectations

Why is it occuring?

In the 2017-2018 school year, there were no clearly defined school-wide expectations regarding behavioral norms.

What are we going to do about it?

We are going to create/implement school-wide expectations regarding behavioral norms and train teachers on the process for doing so.

Action Plan

Our plan is to:

  • Implement a blended model of District recommended CHAMPS training
  • District personnel will be accessed to train teachers on behavioral strategies
  • Teachers will be expected to implement CHAMPS procedures as a TIER 1 behavioral management system

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will monitor/measure success through a decrease in the number of student behavioral referrals via the DMS.

What elements will be addressed?

Policies and procedures for decision-making are established

Why is it occuring?

In the 2017-2018 school year, staff was not consistently making the data based decisions because teachers had a lack of experience/comfort with the data being analyzed to make instructional decisions.  Most data based decisions were generated by administration and the support team.

What are we going to do about it?

Our plan is to empower teachers to become more familiar with data/reports being reflected to make instructional decisions.

Action Plan

Our plan is to:

  • Professional Development on the various data collection tools
  • Data and decision-making based on data will be discussed at Professional Learning Communities
  • Use multiple data sources to drive teacher-based instructional decision-making
  • Monitor the effective implementation of District policies (PMP, RTI)

How will we monitor and measure our success?

It will be monitored through ongoing Data Chats, PLC conversations, and MTSS meetings.  Our success will be measured through student data impacted though teacher-made decisions.
