Tier 1 academic practices clearly identify learning standards

Why is it occuring?

Teachers are unclear about how to log into BASIS and document Tier 1 strategies. Some teachers also lack proper protocol for RtI referral.

What are we going to do about it?

The district MTSS representative for Boyd Anderson High School will present information to faculty about proper protocol on how to refer students to RtI and also how to document Tier 1 strategies they have used in the classroom for student being referred.

Action Plan

As part of the action plan, teachers are to use resources such as PBIS and LEAPS as interventions to implement in their classrooms. 

How will we monitor and measure our success?

BASIS will be monitored at the end of each quarter by RtI team. First quarter will be used as baseline data. We will then compare that data to second quarter in hopes to see improvement of usage by teachers inputting tier 1 data of at least 10 percent.

Data sources are monitored for consistency and accuracy

Why is it occuring?

Teachers are not trained consistently to have data chats with students therefore they are not comfortable having those conversations.

What are we going to do about it?

District will train curriculum leaders and the leaders will train teacher in their department.

Action Plan

Teachers will self-report on how many data chats they've had with students. Data chats will be scheduled with teachers and curriculum leaders to go over results of data chats and adjust.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Data evaluation will be monitored an measured using the results of the data chats.
