Goal Average
For 2018 - 2019
2.3
What elements will be addressed?

Tier 2 academic practices include common student needs, are linked to Tier 1

Why is it occuring?

  • Current supplemental tools (i.e. iReady and other assessments) don't provide a complete evaluation of students' targeted areas of weakness
  • Teachers need additional training in utlizing a variety of assessment data to diagnose student needs and how to implement an appropriate intervention
  • Teachers need a procedure for keeping anecdotal and observational student data

What are we going to do about it?

  • Ongoing training for teachers on how to use iReady in conjunction with a variety of data tools to pinpoint areas of student need
  • During PLC's model the use of forms/documents that can be used to document informal student data and observations

Action Plan

  1. Training on the use of assessments and progress monitoring
  2. Training on the integration of a variety of assessments and progress monitoring data to identify student needs
  3. Provide forms during PLC's for documenting student data

How will we monitor and measure our success?

  • During data chats teachers will share the progress monitoring data they are using to monitor students in RtI for academic and behavior.
  • During RtI meetings teachers will bring accurate and complete progress monitoring data to provide updates on student progress

2.5
What elements will be addressed?

Effective data tools are used appropriately and independently by staff

Why is it occuring?

  • Lack of clear procedures and expectations from administration/district
  • Lack of teacher knowledge on effective use of data and data tools
  • Lack of fidelity

What are we going to do about it?

  • Map out a clear chart of resources for tiered interventions
  • Train staff on MTSS process
  • Clarify the tools for assessing and progress monitoring during RtI meetings
  • Improve communication with district and school during ongoing data chats and district updates

Action Plan

  1. RtI committee meets and develops the chart of resources
  2. Staff are trained on components of MTSS during Pre-planning
  3. Staff training includes how to access MTSS related resources from the district and other sources
  4. During teacher plan days review the tools for academic and behavioral interventions
  5. Utilize monthly data chats to progress monitor and check for consistency of data tools

How will we monitor and measure our success?

  • During data chats teachers will share the progress monitoring data they are using to monitor students in RtI for academic and behavior.
  • During RtI meetings teachers will bring accurate and complete progress monitoring data to provide updates on student progress
