What elements will be addressed?

Professional development and coaching provided to staff

Why is it occuring?

  • Teams are now set up and a coach is overseeing each grade level.
  • PLCs are developed around the coach's schedule so that they can be there to analyze data and make decisions with the team.
  • Coach's are trained on supporting teachers and scholars.
  • Teachers need training on how to analyze data and when to refer students to RTI.
  • Teachers need support in making sure that Tier I strategies are effective.

What are we going to do about it?

  • Coaches will guide teachers in analyzing data and making instructional decisions.
  • Coaches will help teachers determine who needs to be RTI and assist them in getting these students referred.

Action Plan

  • Planning days and PLC days are built into the calendar year.
  • RTI is built into coach's and teachers' schedules.
  • Coaches will help teachers analyze data.
  • Coaches will model Tier I Strategies for teachers.
  • The administration will monitor that time on schedules is uninterrupted to allow for the support to be provided consistently.
  • The instructional coaches will collaborate with teachers to progress monitor the appropriate interventions are implemented and measured weekly with fidelity. 
  • Quarterly data chats with Instructional Leadership Team, CPS team, and teachers will be conducted and support based on these conversations will be provided.
  • Database problem-solving training will be conducted as needed: Identify the problem, Analyze the Problem, Design and Implement Intervention, Progress Monitor and Evaluate Effectiveness.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

  • The CPS team will measure success by the Self-Assessment of Multi-Tiered Support.
  • Collect evidence of support implementation (MTSS/Rti Agendas and PLC sessions).
  • Records review from BASIS
  • Classroom Observations
  • Quarterly data-chats
  • Critical Components Checklist and/or observation (District MTSS/RtI Instructional Facilitato

Resources for implementation of MTSS are addressed through data-based problem-solving

Why is it occuring?

  • Teachers are unsure of the resources that we have available RTI and working with our scholars.

What are we going to do about it?

Using the PLC model that we having going, instructional coaches will work with teachers to select and implement the right inteventions for our students.

Action Plan

  • The CPS team will create an MTSS/RtI calendar.
  • The CPS team will incorporate discussion about gap analysis using weekly PLCs.
  • The instructional coaches will collaborate with teachers to progress monitor the appropriate interventions are implemented and measured weekly with fidelity.
