What elements will be addressed?

The principal is actively involved

Why is it occuring?

Conflicts in scheduling, unexpected events on the school campus, leadership meetings off campus, and other priorities prevent the pricipal or assistant principal from being present at the RtI meetings.

What are we going to do about it?

One of the administrators will be present at some of the meetings. Even if they cannot stay the entire day, they will come and sit in for 30 minutes or more to help address concerns and provide guidance in the RtI meetings.

Information and data will be presented to adminstration if they cannot make a meeting and their input would be valued.

Action Plan

By June 2019, one or both administrators will be present in the RtI meetings to provide guidance, support, and input regarding our students.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Action Plan

By June 2019, the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Team will be able to have evidence of MTSS resources available to all teachers and will buill capacity and infrastructure for implementation within the classroom as evidenced through classroom walkthroughs, data chats, and assessments.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will monitor by performing classroom walkthroughs and having monthly data chats. Data will be measured through computerized assessments via SchoolCity and i-Ready as well as through the Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System (BAS).

What elements will be addressed?

Resources for implementation of MTSS are addressed through data-based problem-solving

Why is it occuring?

Too many resources are being used in the classrooms (some provided by the school and some the teachers are purchasing on their own without administration approval).
Teachers are not consistent with the resources provided to them or do not have enough training to implement resources appropriately.

What are we going to do about it?

Teachers are going to be provided with a pacing guide, detailed lesson plan, and the resources to be used in the classrooms at specific times of the day. If teachers follow the plan, then they will see success in the classroom.

Action Plan

By June 2019, teachers will have a good understanding of how to use and when to implement resources provided so student growth is evident in the classrooms.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Classroom walkthroughs
Teacher observations
Student data

What elements will be addressed?

Tier 3 academic practices are based on students' needs, aligned with Tier 1 and Tier 2

Why is it occuring?

Teachers feel as if they are overwhelmed with the resources and not enough time to provide Tier 3 interventions in the classroom. Teachers were not implementing the interventions with consistency and some needed more training and guidance but did not ask for help.

What are we going to do about it?

More classroom walkthroughs and support will be provided to all teachers
Intervention programs to be used have been limited to a few.
Trainings will be provided to all teachers in small groups.

Action Plan

By June 2019, teachers will know how to implement Tier 3 interventions and will be able to distinguish Tier 1 and 2 from Tier 3 instruction.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Review of Tier 3 student data
Classroom walkthroughs
