School Name Coconut Creek ES (1421) School Year 2018 - 2019 Tier 1 academic practices clearly identify learning standards Lack of parent involvement, student attendance, and resources at the tier 1 level impact the implementation of RTI. Had nterventions been practiced and remediated both at home as well as in school, students may achieve more success at the tier 1 level rather than having to be referred through the Tier 2 RTI process which is causing an abundance of RTI tier 2 referrals, that could be avoided. Provide the teacher with a checklist of what needs to be completed at the Tier 1 level, including parent conferences, and sharing information with the parent in regards to student concerns. Parent notices are sent home one week prior to RTI meetings, to ensure ample time for parents to attend RTI meetings for their child. Send RTI invitation notices: weekly on Wednesday's one week prior to scheduled RTI meetings. Provide information in the school news letter in regards to RTI. Referred to resources online such as DPI. The amount of Tier 1 referrals that have been completed, level of parent response and engagement to attend meetings, and success of tier 1 interventions increasing, this reducing the tier 2 referral needs.
