What elements will be addressed?

Professional development and coaching provided to staff

Why is it occuring?

Professional development time is limited for teachers due to other responsibilities they have. Changes are being made to BASIS and teachers need time to become acclimated to these programs.

What are we going to do about it?

This year, we will provide updates on BASIS. We will meet with new teachers to review how to use BASIS.

Action Plan

We will discuss any changes in BASIS with staff. We will review how to enter Tier 1 strategies into BASIS. Provide support to all teachers as needed.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will monitor and measure our success by making sure our teachers are independently entering tier 1 strategies in a timely manner. Teachers will come to RTI meetings and have tier 1 startegies completed for students they are concerned about.

What elements will be addressed?

Educators actively engage families in MTSS

Why is it occuring?

At times, teachers have difficulty getting in touch with parents to let them kknow about the MTSS process. Parents are not as familiar with this process as educators and sometimes educators do not explain it.

What are we going to do about it?

This year we will attempt to provide resources to parents with information about MTS. The parent guide will be provided to the teachers so they can share it with every parent they meet with about RTI.

Action Plan

We will expalin in detail MTSS to teachers. We will provide teachers with the parent guide to hand out. We will also invite parents to RTI and ensure they understand the entire process.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will monitor and measure success by monitoring teacher conferences mentioning the RTI process with the students that are in RTI. We will invite parents to RTI meetings. Parents that attend initial staffings will demonstrate an understanding of the RTI process.
