What elements will be addressed?

Educators actively engage families in MTSS

Why is it occuring?

Prior practices in the school have been to invite parents to the required parent-teacher conferences. The school culture hasn't shifted to inviting parents to MTSS meetings as part of common practice.

What are we going to do about it?

Teachers are going to explain the CPST process during intial Parent-Teacher conferences. This explanation will give the parent a working knowledge of the process and what to expect from the team.

Action Plan

The CPST coordinator will personally invite parents to the meeting making accomodations for the parent's schedule. The team will encourage the parent to become part of the decision making process for their child. The parent will be informed of the MTSS protocol model and will be guided through the process.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Success will be monitor and measured through active parent particpation versus number of meetings attended. This information will be compared to previous years.

What elements will be addressed?

Staff understand and have access to data sources

Why is it occuring?

At this point in time, the staff has an initial understanding of how to access academic, behavior and social-emotional data sources that could be used to better understand each student's needs.

What are we going to do about it?

Through the exisiting PLC structure, the leadership team will demonstrate how to access and utilize assessments related to academic, social and behavioral data that are appropriate for each student.

Action Plan

Staff will be given opportunities through Data Chats to implement strategies taught to assess why a student is at-risk, monitor student growth and progress and determine how well a student is responding to academic, behavior and social goals.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will measure success through a self-reflection pre- and post conference with all primary teachers.
