Professional development and coaching provided to staff

Why is it occuring?

  • Staff members may not be familiar with  MTSS and how to implement it.

What are we going to do about it?

  •  Provide professional development and coaching for all staff members.

Action Plan

  • Leadership Team will assess and discuss the need for the training
  • Contact a representative from the district to schedule a training date
  • Notify staff about the training and why it is being offered
  • Reflect after training and discuss how MTSS can be implemented or improved in the classroom

How will we monitor and measure our success?

  • Sign-in sheets from training
  • Teacher feedback after training to see if they have a better understand of MTSS and are prepared to begin implementation

Staff have consensus and engage in MTSS Implementation

Why is it occuring?

  • All teachers may not be on the same page in regards to MTSS and its implementation
  • Their level of understanding in regards to MTSS and intervention strategies may vary 

What are we going to do about it?

  • After being formally trained on MTSS the faculty will meet to discuss the implementation of MTSS and the use of effective strategies

Action Plan

  • Staff will collaboratively establish expectations for high quality research -based instructions
  • Use a team based approach to develop, implement and evaluate alternative interventions
  • Establish a progress monitoring tool
  • Discuss ways to get parents involved

How will we monitor and measure our success?

  • Minutes from each meeting and an implementation plan for MTSS 
  • Classroom Walkthroughs
  • Use of tracking tools and student data
