What elements will be addressed?

Schedules provide adequate time for training and coaching

Why is it occuring?

Due to the uptick of safety and security within the school, coaching and training has been limited which has lead to less time to update schedules and planning for the teachers and staff within the school.

What are we going to do about it?

As a MTSS-RTI team and as a school, we are discussing, creating and implementing roadmaps for teachers and other school personnel to follow when addressing time for coaching and training within the school.

Action Plan

The MTSS-RTI team will develop an action plan that includes a set schedule for all teachers and staff to participate in professional learning communitites. The PLC schedule and topics will be monitored in an effort to increase student achievement by providing teachers with best practices that include the CARE (curriculum, assessment, remediation, and enrichment) and BEST (Beyond Expected Student Targets) cycle. PLC's will begin on Aug. 29 2018 and conclude on May 15, 2019. Teachers will ana;yze student data and complete follow-up assignments related to teaching and learning for each departmental PLC.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will monitor and measure our success by abiding to the PLC calendar and providing schedules that allow for training and coaching as it pertains to the element.

What elements will be addressed?

Effective data tools are used appropriately and independently by staff

Why is it occuring?

Teachers need more training and time to facilitate the DBPS across content areas, grade levels, ad tiers. In addition, some teachers are new to the district and or school thus creating a need to re-evaluate the current method of training that is offered.

What are we going to do about it?

As a MTSS-RTI team, we are discussing, creating and implementing roadmaps for teachers and other school personnel to follow when addressing the data-evaluation element.

Action Plan

The action plan for MTSS-RtI will start with our teacher training on BASIS, the new RtI process in sending referrals and deliberately giving examples of how to input data and make graphs for show students progress or decline.  We will also review the various charts and forms that we could possibly send out to assist with monitoring.  After our initial training, any member of our CPS Team is more than willing to assist teachers one on one to meet their individual needs. The plan includes hosting a minium of three hand-on training sessions with all school personnel before March 2019. The first training will be held in November, followed by January and March of 2019.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

We will use BASIS, RtI meetings and parent conferences as our way to monitor teacher progress with understanding the data evaluation.
