What elements will be addressed?

The leadership team actively engages in ongoing professional development

Why is it occuring?

Once the staff has participated in professional development, data is not collected and used to determine areas that need improvement. 

What are we going to do about it?

Use various methods to follow-up with staff after providing professional development that support MTSS implementation, and then use data collected when planning for the next opportunity.

Action Plan

Prior to scheduling Professional Development opportunities, the School-based Leadership team will develop a needs assessment, give it to the staff, and meet as a team to discuss the results.  Then the team will determine the next topic for discussion but be sure to plan the follow-up activity and schedule a meeting date to discuss the results immediately following. 

How will we monitor and measure our success?

The School-based Leadership team will meet to discuss the results of the follow-up and determine the next plan of action (next PD opportunity).

What elements will be addressed?

Staff are provided data on MTSS fidelity and student outcomes

Why is it occuring?

The CPS Team must establish a process that will be utilized to provide the staff with updates regarding overall MTSS implementation and student outcomes on a continuous basis.  Updates are usually provided at the start of the year and tend to decline as the year progresses.

What are we going to do about it?

Increase the frequency of times communication takes place between the CPS Team and the staff regarding MTSS implementation and student outcomes to ensure continuous improvement, provide opportunities to receive feedback regarding processes and planning, and build the school’s infrastructure. 

Action Plan

  • Have quarterly meetings with the staff to discuss minutes from the last meeting, processes, procedures and suggestions.
  • Export lists that provides the status of student referrals in the BASIS queue.
  • Provide percentages of students responding positively, questionably and negatively to interventions.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

After meeting with the staff, the CPS Team will gather to debrief and adjust as necessary.
