What elements will be addressed?

Tier 2 academic practices include common student needs, are linked to Tier 1

Why is it occuring?

Staff is in need of training to fully understand the resources available for all students in a tier 2 group.  Schoolwide availability of resources is not shared with all instructional staff.  

Staff is not well versed in the use of BASIS and evaluating the available data for assigned class or schoolwide.  

What are we going to do about it?

A plan will be established and shared for all Tier 2 supports.  We will determine schoolwide which interventions will be utilized for Tier 2 groups of students for both academics and behavior.

Staff will receive training on BASIS.  All staff will be advised of updates and changes in the information available in the system.

Action Plan

1. Identify resources
2. Create a MTSS Literacy & Math Interventions Resource Guide and share with all staff and RtI case managers.
3. Create a MTSS Behaviour Interventions Resource Guide and share with all staff and RtI case managers.

Data/Eval:
A schoolwide training will be scheduled for the 2018-19 school year.  The behavior specialist and team leaders will support teachers to understand the data for their students.

How will we monitor and measure our success?

The Behavior specialist will monitor students inn the RtI process at Tier 2 and Tier 3.  Student progress will be monitored in small groups and individual supports.

Schoolwide data will be shared quarterly at staff meetings.  The Behavior specialist will review and analyze data when meeting with staff on students in need of the RtI process at Tier 2 or Tier 3.

Effective data tools are used appropriately and independently by staff

Why is it occuring?

Staff did not fully understand the 4-Step Problem Solving Process. 

What are we going to do about it?

Staff will continue to be provided with opportunities to learn and practice utilizing BASIS to implement the 4-Step Problem Solving Process and how it relates to student interventions, progress monitoring and achievement. 

Action Plan

Staff will receive training in the following forms to address the use of data tools: PLCs, team meetings, faculty meetings, district trainings and in-house trainings. 

How will we monitor and measure our success?

Monthly Meetings are scheduled to monitor students' RTI process. We will observe an increase in the use of implementation of TIER 1 Supplemental Strategies in BASIS prior to meeting with RTI/CPST Facilitator.
