Park Trails has initiated a school wide program titled: "Choose to be Nice"  in grades K-5, which incorporates 9 Choose To Be Nice values into the classroom and throughout the school.
In Grades K-2 the learning activities are designed for young elementary school students, nine developmentally appropriate learning activites are provided for each grade level.  Interdisciplinary activities promote literacy with recommended children's books for each lesson, connection to core subject areas, extension ideas, and home connections.
In Grades 3-5 there are nine student centered and hands-on learning activities included for each grade level to promote the nine Choose To Be Nice values in ways that engage older students.  Learning activities connect to multiple subject areas allowing for greater teacher flexibility, extension ideas, and home connections.
The nine Choose To Be Nice values are Respectful Ryan, Kind Kiera, Accepting Alex, Teamwork Tyler, Honest Hannah, Responsible Riley, Friendly Felipe, Patient Pria, and Courageous Cameron.

We are also encouraging our parents, students and teachers to demonstrate, "Peace, Love & PAWS-itivity"  which is our school theme for this year 2018-2019.
