Unexcused Absences
ATTENDANCE
- DPC pulls attendance weekly and gives to appropriate counselor.
- Counselor compares against A15.
- Counselor looks at A07 for pattern of non-attendance.
- At 3 or 4 days of non-attendance:
- Meet with student and explain policy.
- If pattern exists, call home to explain policy and flag Grade Level Progress Book.
- Document on L27.
- At 5 days of non-attendance:
- Check A15 for total to verify if 90 day letter is appropriate.
- Email Gwen Boykin to send appropriate non-attendance letter. Be sure to identify regular or pattern letter to be sent.
- Document on L27.
- Monitor attendance weekly.
- After 2 weeks, meet with student again.
- After 4 weeks, if attendance is good, monitor monthly for rest of the year.
- At 10 days:
- Email Gwen Boykin to send 10 day letter and create School Social Worker referral.
