2: Section #1: Plan Type

Plan Type

A Comprehensive Plan

Attendance is a critical component to student's academic success.  Atlantic Technical College and Technical High School has created a comprehensive attendance plan to address our attendance needs.  As a full-time magnet program, we share this information regularly with our parents and students at Freshmen Orientation, the Magnet Open House, and our Back to School Curriculum Night.  Our policies are shared in the ATC Student Handbook which is distributed to all students, signed by their parents or guardians, and it is posted to our webpage.  Our policy defines non-attendance as an accumulation of tardiness, early sign-outs, and excused or unexcused absences for all or part of the day.  If a student is absent more than 5 days in a term, interventions will automatically occur.  Interventions can include receiving an Attendance letter, being referred to the school's RtI team, placed on an Attendance Contract, referral to the School Social Worker, and the District automatically reports to the state.   If a student repeatedly violates the District's Code of Student Conduct guideline related to attendance and excessive tardiness, the student may be assigned to his/her home high school.
