Parking and Traffic Pattern Update

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Due to construction by Broward College the north entrance/exit gate from the senior parking lot has been permanently closed.  To help alleviate any congestion Nova High School is implementing  a new  traffic pattern, which  parents/ guardians that drop off and pickup students will be required to follow. Parents are to enter and exit through the south gate of the high school teacher parking lot on College Avenue.  Please refer to the attached map for further details.

Tips For Speeding Up The Car Line

1. Stay to the right as you enter into the car line if you are dropping off/picking up your child. If you need to park, you may stay to the left of the car line driving around to the entrances of the lane you want to park in.

2. Pull all the way up to the next car that is stopped or to the stop sign when dropping off/picking up your child. This will allow more cars to drop off at the same time (10-15 cars) as oppose to 5 or 6 at a time.

3. Drop/Pickup your child on the sidewalk located in front of the school. Refrain from dropping off/Picking up anywhere else as this can be dangerous for you child walking in and out of cars that are moving. This also causes the line to move much slower and you still have to drive around to the sidewalks in order to exit the car line.

4. Make sure that your child is ready to exit the vehicle once you reached a complete stop at the sidewalk. They should have said their goodbyes and gathered their belongings prior to you stopping. This will help with speeding up the car line.

5. Refrain from having your child's belongings in the trunk. This can cause serious injury to your child if the vehicle behind you crashes into your vehicle.

6. When exiting the school grounds make a right turn only. This will be much easier for you to get out onto the main road and will keep the car line moving.
