Welcome to Learning Resources
The Department of Learning Resources & Instructional Materials provides leadership and support to develop, strengthen, and promote library media programs throughout Broward County Schools, Florida. Media specialists and school libraries play a fundamental role in helping the entire school learning community acquire the information literacy, communication, and technology skills essential for teaching and learning. Through their roles as teacher, instructional consultant, information and technology integration specialist, library media specialists are essential to the school's instructional program and vital to student success.
The Florida DOE Library Media Services, provides many instructional support and resources such as ExC3EL, (Florida's evaluation tool for K-12 library programs), FINDS (Florida's research process model), and READS (Florida's K-12 integrated library media reading guidelines.)
