Essential Question:
How do you affect the world?

Project Desciption:
Our mission was to promote understanding that our actions have an effect on others; that it is our personal responsibility to take actions to protect and enrich our environment, and that each of us must demonstrate tolerance and acceptance within our communities as well as globally.

Teachers/Classes:

Mary Amodeo, 6th grade Language Arts: students worked in groups to create a movie, concentrating on one particular character trait to demonstrate its value in society.

Jared Forman, 7th grade Language Arts: students created podcasts focusing on choices characters in short stories made and the impact it had on their lives

Lindsey Gambill, 7th grade Language Arts: reading The Giver by Lois Lowry showed students that one person can have an impact. Students then selected a topic important to them and created Public Service Announcements to inform others of their cause.



Tammy Ramirez, 8th grade Social Studies: students researched and shared the background knowledge on voting by creating movies

Cheryl Barrios, 8th grade Social Studies: students developed a Public Service Announcement movies to persuade voters to exercise their right to vote thus enhancing the democratic process.

Rafael Giraldo, 8th grade Social Studies: students envisioned the future of the voting process in America.

Paul Passman, 8th grade Science: students researched, learned and communicated to others that the environment is fragile.

Kathleen Dillmeier, Media Specialist: supported the teachers and students while they progressed through their projects.
