Essential Question:
In a world where sports and entertainment do not exist,
what can I become?

Project Desciption:
Students researched careers outside of the entertainment and sports industries focusing on personal qualities to perform certain jobs, availability of jobs in certain geographical areas, and rare and unusual careers.

Teachers/Classes:

Mr. Jimmy Newson's 8th grade AVID students focused on the personal qualities a person must possess to ensure a successful career as a nurse, astronaut, obstetrician, writer, and general contractor.

Ms. Doris Rushing's  8th grade Science  students worked in collaboration with Mr. Newson’s students. 

Ms. Betty Shore's 7th grade Spanish students researched careers that required bilingual skills. They compared geographical areas of the country were people who speak more than one language are in high demand.


Ms. Alisa Walton's 8th grade Business students researched careers in the field of communication and compared them to the similar careers in other countries such as China and Australia.

Mrs. Karen Southerland's 7th grade Language Arts students focused on rare and unusual career such as that of nuclear scientist, midwife, heart surgeon, skateboard designer.                                                       

 Mrs. Kamellia Roberts, Media Specialist: supported the teachers and students while they progressed through their projects.
