About GLIDES

GLIDES is a district initiative that supports teachers and students through a project-based learning process. The purpose is to provide support to the teachers and students from the planning of the project to gathering the information needed to the building of a final project. Teachers are provided in-class coaching throughout the implementtion of the project in the use of of 21st century tools and stratgies in learning.

The three episodes showcase each phase of the GLIDES process: planning, gathering, and building. The teacher, Elyse Brunt, will explain the process in the three podcasts.

About the Episode (Planning):

In this episode Elyse will describe the process for the first phase of the project. Prior to the students beginning the project the teachers: plan the project around curriculum standards; have an end in mind; determine innovative strategies and methods to use digital tools; and determine benchmarks and methods to assess throughout the process.

The students then meet in groups and map out a plan to address the problem or question; determine roles; and, begin thinking as a team and developing an ownership of the project.
