PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION THOROUGHLY.  INCOMPLETE FORMS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.  ONLY ONE TRANSFER REQUEST WILL BE PROCESSED PER SCHOOL YEAR. 

Transfer applications may be submitted any time after January 1st through the last day of the regular school year.  Any employee who received an end-of-year overall evaluation of less than satisfactory for the current and/or previous school year is not eligible to transfer.  Also, any teacher under a Performance Development Plan is ineligible to transfer.

Hardship Explanation

Regular Transfer -  Any current instructional employee may apply for a regular transfer .

Hardship Transfer - Applicant must have completed a year of service with the District and travels 20 miles or more one-way, by the most direct route within Broward County limits to the assigned work location; or employee has a serious medical and/or personal problem which can be substantiated by a Board selected physician or acceptable written explanations as determined by the Superintendent.  If requesting a hardship based on a medical and/or personal problem, email supporting documents to TEACH@browardschools.com and indicate Supporting Documents for Hardship Transfer in the subject line.  Failure to provide the supporting documents will result in the denial of your request for a hardship transfer. 

Guaranteed Transfer - Applicant must have completed not less than fifteen (15) consecutive years in his/her current school.  Applicants shall be granted a transfer if a vacancy exists for the following school year in one of ten (10) schools the employee selects as long as the applicant holds the required certification/qualifications for the position.  If the employee declines a position at one of the ten locations selected, the guaranteed transfer will be invalidated and the employee will no longer be considered for a guaranteed transfer.

Applicants may select up to ten (10) schools for transfer; however, you may apply for vacancies via careers.browardschools.com to locations not listed on your form.
