New Teacher Academy
The New Teacher Academy (NTA) is an intensive, interactive course of study dedicated to helping you make your initial classroom experience positive and rewarding for you and your students. The NTA is free to all newly hired classroom teachers employed by The School Board of Broward County, Florida. These courses include:

Is participation in the New Teacher Academy (NTA) mandatory?
It is mandatory for teachers pursuing Broward County's alternative certification program (ACE). For all others, it is optional, but highly recommended and supported by independent research that shows improvement in practice over non-participants.
How do I register?
Registration is required. For the registration form and completion directions, click here. A confirmation and more detailed information will be sent to you prior to the first session.
What does it involve?
NTA is a four-day, comprehensive professional development for new teachers and teachers new to the district. Participants are required to implement their new learning during the semester following the training.
Will I be paid?
A stipend of $15.00 per hour will be paid for the four days (for SBBC teachers). Additionally, inservice points will be awarded after completing all sessions, including the follow up.
Is there a fee?
No, The School of Broward County, Florida sponsors the New Teacher Academy (NTA).
