Courses, Course Types, Course Groups

imageDistrict Courses are time and date specific events that correspond to a Course Type. Course Type numbers align with Component Numbers which are organized codes approved by the Florida Department of Education to catalog and guide professional development activities. Components include a title, general description, specific objective, procedures, implementation activities, and evaluation. Course Types correspond to a specific Course Group or Professional Development Program. Completion of a program or parts of a program may provide specific qualifications to successful completers.

Registration and Cancellation

BCPS employees use their assigned personnel number to logon to the management system for course registration. Passwords are set the first time the management system is used and can be reset, if forgotten. Email addresses are required to ensure course booking confirmation and course cancellation notification. Registrants who do not receive an official booking confirmation may be on the waitlist, but are not officially registered and should not attend the course. Some courses have prerequisites or are open to specific, limited groups. Check the Course Description on ESS for details. Courses are free for BCPS employees. All other individuals should contact the Training Provider listed on the course for fee information. Charter school employees and other external participants must obtain a valid registration User ID.

A registered participant, whose plans have changed, should cancel registration in the management system, within 24 hours of the Start Date. If the Start Date has passed, the Training Provider listed on the course should be contacted in order to make the cancelation. This allows for registration into a future course.
