Action Research - Data Analysis

 

 
Data analysis is a process of using data with the goal of highlighting useful information to suggest conclusions, and suppor decision making. Make sure you have at least three or more forms of data to analyze.
 

Both quantitative and qualitative data can be represented visually to help with the analysis process. A spreadsheet, such as Microsoft Excel or Apple Numbers, provides a tool for making a variety of visual representations of data. Visual representations and charts allow you to

Look for patterns and categories, tally commonalities, describe trends and curiosities, catalog observations, count and compare, and make predictions

 

 

Visual representations include

Flow charts - used to represents an algorithm or process

Bar Graph - used to used for comparing two or more values.

Pie Graph - used to represent proportions of a whole

Scatter graph - used to represent values for two variables

Line Graph - used to represent trends over time
