CAB Conference Surplus Exchange
-
Electronic means for schools and departments to exchange materials.
-
B-Stock staff checks the conference daily.
-
The 3290A form is in the header of the conference as well as the instruction.
-
For example: Banyan Elementary may have 3 violins so they enter a listing as "Have: violins, 3-ea, good condition." In this manner conference users do not need to open each posting to determine availability of items; just scan the subject headings. Bethune Elementary may need the violins and therefore will respond to the Banyan posting. Banyan may need computer bags and will post a another listing as "Need: computer bags".
-
In some cases there are a lot of items available for a location and therefore the posting will need to be opened and read. For example, the subject line may read "Have: toner Cartridges", the body of the text will list the type and quantity.
-
The same transfer procedure is followed, i.e. a 3290A form is generated, sent via Pony to B-stock which generated a transfer ticket, and coordinates the transportation of the items with the Central Warehouse.
