ONE-POINT OF ENTRY
In order to ensure the safety of all our FLHS family, students, teachers & staff, and visiting parents, we have established a more efficient one-point of entry onto the campus. Please note these guidelines in helping us keep the security of our campus. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Parent Resource Center.
1. All parents and/or visitors must present a Florida driver’s license.

2. Parent/visitor must declare purpose of campus visit, i.e. Parent/Teacher conference, meeting with Administration, student registration. Simple visitations to visit or tour the campus are not allowed.

3. Once cleared through the SBBC District STAR system, the visitor must wear the temporary badge while on campus, and then must report directly to the declared meeting office.

4. Upon exiting, the parent/visitor must return the temporary ID badge to the Front Desk personnel and must leave the campus grounds.

5. Please note that we are not equipped to delivery items to students while he/she is in class. Please refrain from dropping off items and/or requesting that we deliver forgotten homework assignments to your student. Food deliveries to students are not allowed.

STUDENT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP

Car Riders
For the safety of our students, we ask that all students being dropped-off in the morning before the 7:35 AM bell and being picked-up in the afternoon at the 2:40 PM bell use the 16th Street car loop. Please pull up to the curb and as far as possible on the loop in order to allow parents behind your vehicle to enter the loop.

Bus Riders
All SBBC buses use the north end, Flying L Drive (4th Ave.) entry and exit gates. Please refrain from driving into this parking lot as it is a designated Staff parking lot and one-way entry and exit designed for the SBBC buses.

Student Car Drivers
The Student parking lot (west side of Flying L Drive) is available to FLHS students who complete a Student Parking Application. Proof of a valid, Florida driver’s license, proof of insurance, a parent signature, and an annual parking fee are part of the application requirements. Student drivers are not allowed to park in the Staff Parking lot. Students cannot make a left turn exiting the Student Parking lot. All students are required to use the safety cross-walks.

Student Pedestrians
All students are required to use the safety cross-walks.

Once students arrive on campus, they cannot leave without parent and administrative permission. This includes leaving campus after a bus or parent drop-off, no matter what time it is.
All students arriving after the 7:35 AM bell are required to enter the campus through the One-Point of Entry (Parent Resource Center). Please note there is limited visitor parking available in the Staff Parking lot. Please do not park in the NO PARKING/LOADING ZONE. These areas are clearly marked with signage and yellow-stripes and are also reserved for Fire/Emergency vehicles. Cars may be ticketed by FLPD if parked in these zones.

Please note that all SBBC parking lots have and enforce a 5 MPH Speed Limit. We have several members of the faculty, staff, deliveries and parent visitors that walk through the parking lots. Please be observant at all times and refrain from using your cell phones while in the parking lot.

STUDENT SUPERVISION

There is no supervision of students 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after the start and finish of the school day. The first bell is at 7:35 AM and dismissal is at 2:40 PM.

Any student on campus without supervision for a sponsored event will be asked to leave campus. If the student refuses to leave or delays in leaving campus, the student faces a possible referral for defiance and a possible trespassing arrest by the FLPD.

Morning STAR tutoring is available for FLHS students from 6:50 AM – 7: 35 AM in Media Center. Students must pre-register to participate in this program. Parent signature is required, and the cost is free. Details are available in Guidance and the Media Center.

All students reporting to Club meetings after school must report to the assigned meeting room by 2: 50 PM. Students are to remain with the club sponsor until parent pick-up is present, or until 4:45 PM, the time of Activity Bus departure. Students are not permitted to ride Activity Buses without proper written permission from the Club Sponsor or Athletic Coach. More information regarding Activity Buses is available at 754-322-1130.
