2011 Summer Reading Lists Summer Reading keeps the brain engaged, helps to improve vocabulary and allows you to engage the imagination in various ways: travel, hobbies, mysteries, adventure, and more. Read at least three books this summer, make it fun and enjoyable, and have a wonderful experience!

BEEP Broward Enterprise Education Portal, your digital doorway to resources for teaching and learning. BEEP has many resources to assist students and parents, including access to March2Success, online textbooks, Atomic Learning, Virtual Counselor, the specialized academic search engine netTrekker d.i., and more.

March 2 Success — A tool that provides educational content to help anyone improve their knowledge and test scores in the areas of language arts, mathematics, and science.

Virtual Counselor This valuable tool provides access to a student's academic performance records.

Pinnacle The Pinnacle Internet Viewer allows parents and students to view the teacher's grade book for the course in which the student is currently enrolled.

BRACEBroward Advisors for Continuing Education is an excellent resource for students planning to continue with higher education after graduation from high school. Make sure to check this site often for the latest information on topics such as selecting a college or university to attend, available scholarships, and financial aid.

FACTS.orgFlorida's Academic Counseling and Tracking for Students, which is sponsored by the Department of Education and the Florida Center for Advising & Academic Support. This free online advising web site helps students plan and track their education progress from middle school through college.

FCAT Explorer A practice and skills reinforcement tool based on Florida’s Sunshine State Standards.

Online Resources and DatabasesIn addition to providing traditional research and reference resources, the Everglades Media Center also provides a number of electronic resources that are accessible both on and off campus. Due to licensing issues, we cannot post usernames or passwords that some of the resources might require. Please come and visit a media specialist and we will gladly provide this information.

eBooks In order to server our patrons more effectively, the Everglades High School Media Center has purchased several book titles in electronic format. These books are commonly referred to as eBooks. If you have any questions about the use of the eBooks, please contact the media center staff.

Athletics

BCAA The Broward County Athletic Association (BCAA) is the largest high school athletic conference in Broward County and the second largest in the state of Florida. The BCAA is a unit of the School Board of Broward County overseeing 24 sports programs at member high schools.

FHSAAThe Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) is committed to this ideal, and to the belief that a quality education does not begin or end in the classroom.

Silence Hurts — Students, parents, teachers and community members have the power. If you know of plans to commit violence in our schools, do the right thing. Tell us. Tell an administrator. H1N1 Influenza Outbreak This is a link to information provided by the School Board of Broward County in regards to the H1N1 Influenza and a letter to parents from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in regards to H1N1 Influenza.

Food Inspection Report This is a link to the latest available food inspection report for Everglades High School

Service Learning Opportunities This link will take students directly to a Volunteer Broward site that lists and explains approximately 120 agencies at which students can volunteer without filling out the Prior Approval Form.

Transcript Requests The process for requesting transcripts has been recently updated. Please click on this link for further instructions and to download the transcript request form. If you are a former Everglades High School student, please do not come on campus for a transcript request.

Broward County Schools Parent Involvement You are your child’s first and most important teacher! Whether your child is in preschool, elementary, middle or high school – your involvement is crucial to his/her success. The Parent Involvement Office is available with information and resources to help you stay informed and get involved in your child's education.
