Important Class Size Reduction information: The State of Florida's Class Size Reduction amendment requires all high schools to schedule no more than 25 students into each core class. In order to comply with this amendment, it is necessary for the school to add classes into our master schedule. Please know that Everglades High has taken all the possible measures to minimize the impact these changes will have on our students. Unfortunately, there will be changes to a number of student schedules on our campus. We have put a process in place to make certain that all student grades are transferred to their new teacher. Thank you in advance for your support with this difficult task. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at: Guidance Department - phone number (754)323-0509

You - students, parents, teachers and community members have the power. If you know of plans to commit violence in our schools, do the right thing. Tell us. Tell an administrator. Tell a teacher. Speak up. Call, E-mail, text or Twitter. Silence is no longer an option. We must prevent callous acts of violence.

All compulsory age students are required to attend school every
day of the 180-day school year. Parents of children of compulsory
school age are responsible for their child’s daily school
attendance. Because poor academic performance is associated with
nonattendance, schools will respond in a timely manner to prevent
the development of patterns of non-attendance, which may indicate
early signs of truancy. Schools will collaborate with appropriate
local and state agencies that are involved in truancy prevention,
intervention, and judicial action. Additional information
related to attendance can also be found in the current edition
of the code of student conduct, which is approved, as School Board
policy, on an annual basis.
