School Board of Broward County, FL
All compulsory age students are required to attend school every day of the 180-day school year. Parents of children of compulsory school age are responsible for their child’s daily school attendance. Because poor academic performance is associated with nonattendance, schools will respond in a timely manner to prevent the development of patterns of non-attendance, which may indicate early signs of truancy. Schools will collaborate with appropriate local and state agencies that are involved in truancy prevention, intervention, and judicial action.  Additional information related to attendance can also be found in the current edition of the code of student conduct, which is approved, as School Board policy, on an annual basis.

The School Board of Broward County, Florida, is committed to protecting its students, employees, and applicants for admission from bullying, harassment, or discrimination for any reason and of any type. The School Board believes that all students and employees are entitled to a safe, equitable, and harassment-free school experience. Bullying, harassment, or discrimination will not be tolerated and shall be just cause for disciplinary action.

The School Board of Broward County, Florida, prohibits any policy or procedure which results in discrimination on the basis of age, color, disability, gender, national origin, marital status, race, religion or sexual orientation. Individuals who wish to file a discrimination and/or harassment complaint may call the Director of Equal Educational Opportunities at (754) 321-2150 or Teletype Machine TTY (754) 321-2158.
