DepotWorks is used to report Apple hardware repairs online, track
repair status, get a history of repairs and track warranty information.

TLCs must attend DepotWorks training before receiving an account.

ENTERING DEPOTWORKS TICKETS


Bell Industries is reporting the "School Comments" field in DepotWorks is not
descriptive enough for their techs to properly diagnose the hardware reported.
Creating a Dispatch with the School Comment "computer does not work" does
not communicate what is wrong with the computer. This results in a longer end
user delay while Bell techs have to contact the school/department tech for more
information.

Please do not use quotation marks in the School Comments and Additional
School Comments sections when creating a new DepotWorks Dispatch repair.
Using quotation marks will cause the remaining text after the quotation mark not
to  appear in the repair ticket. If you need to quote something, you can type the text
in all capital letters { TEXT } or use another symbol such as two hyphens
together { --text-- }.



MULTIPLE REPAIRS



Please do not wait until you have multiple computers before calling them in for repair. Please call in repairs as they occur. Holding repairs makes it very difficult for Bell Industries to schedule technicians and get repairs completed in a timely manner. In addition, equipment may fall off warranty. DepotWorks Web Site

METRO TECHNICAL SERVICES:

COMPUTERS: *METRO CR 

The Computer Repair Department repairs out-of-warranty computer and peripheral equipment including desktop and laptop computers (Apple and Dell), printers, keyboards/mice, and related equipment. MTS also repairs mishandled equipment that the manufacturers do not cover under warranty. Computer repair techs provide telephone and on-site support for users. Check the annual obsolete list for items supported by Metro CR.

BUSINESS MACHINES: *METRO BMK 
The Business Machines Repair Department maintains a variety of items generally found in the Media Center, including punch and binding equipment, poster printers, laminators and KRONOS timekeeping stations. Check the annual obsolete list for items supported by Metro BMAV. 

DIGITAL DIVIDE: *METRO DD
The Digital Divide Department collects surplused Apple and Dell desktop and laptop computers that are then refurbished and distributed to qualifying families through the Digital Divide program. Digital Divide techs are stationed at Rock Island Professional Development Center (RIPDC) where they refurbish and store computers.
