•         Dec 1995 Received $2 million dollar IBM Reinventing Education Grant.

o          IBM grant for the database hardware, software and some consulting to design and build the data warehouse.

o         BCPS matched with hardware and personnel.

•          1996 Data warehouse was designed.  

o         Brio Software’s Brio IntelligenceΤ product selected & purchased as query reporting tool

o         Met with user committees to design desired queries and reports.

•          School Year (SY) 1996 piloted client software with three schools: 1 elementary, 1 middle & 1 high school

•          SY 1997 pilot expanded to 21 schools &  all district offices.

•          SY 1998 LIVE at 205 schools and all 45 District Offices

•          SY 1999 Maintenance data added to track past, present & future work orders

•          SY 2000 DWH Reports were made available in pdf format through a browser; Interactive web implemented

•          SY 2001 Web Queries developed for total access to the BCPS Intranet through browsers; New HRMS (Human Resource Management System) system data added

•          SY 2002 Virtual Counselor, pilot in all 23 high schools: a direct access for students and district personnel to view individual student records online

•          SY 2003 Open Virtual Counselor to District (Planned to open Virtual Counselor to the parents over the internet) •
