Viewing and printing these tips will require that your computer have the "Adobe Acrobat Reader" (version 5.x or higher) application installed. Additionally - a browser plug-in allows the Acrobat Reader to integrate with the browser software. This will make viewing and printing possible within the browser window. Follow the links to obtain these software components.

  6. To export numbers saved in Brio to Excel
    The number field must be changed to a data type of REAL in order to allow export to another file format.  These are the steps:
         a.  Click on the Query section.
         b.  Go to the Request line and double-click on the decimal field that is not exporting.
         c.  Click on the Options button.
         d.  Go to the Datatype field and choose REAL.
         e.   Save the query and process.


  7. To export numbers saved in Brio to Filemaker
    The number field must be changed to a data type of STRING in order to allow export to Filemaker file format.  These are the steps:
         a.  Click on the Query section.
         b.  Go to the Request line and double-click on the decimal field that is not exporting.
         c.  Click on the Options button.
         d.  Go to the Datatype field and choose STRING.
         e.   Save the query and process.

  9. To export dates from Brio to FileMaker
    The format of the date field must be specified in Brio in order to export properly to Filemaker.  These are the steps:
         a. Click on the Results section after processing.
         b. Click on the date column to highlight it.
         c. Click on Format on the menu bar.
         d. Choose Number.
         e. On the left side of the Properties dialog box, choose CUSTOM.
         f.  On the right side of the Properties dialog box, click in format, then type the date format.
             (ie. mm/dd/yyyy)
         g. Export your results.
