  • Should you select to print an application, please mail to Demographics & Student Assignments Department, 600 SE 3rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. The application must be postmarked no later than February 8, 2017 to be considered within the window for consideration.
  • Before completing the reassignment application, you will need to ensure that your child has a student identification number with Broward County Public Schools. You may secure the identification number from your child's home boundary school. This is not the full registration process to enroll a student, but only to secure an identification number. All incoming kindergarten students must secure an identification number.
  • Please ensure that you review the list of reassignment schools as you complete the application. Schools allocated reassignment seats are based upon the requirements of Florida Class Size, school concurrency, and enrollment projections. Should a school receive more applications than seats allocated, a computerized random selection process will be used to award the seats. You will be able to select a school that is listed for reassigned seats when completing the application.
  • It is recommended that you verify all information prior to submitting a reassignment application online or in hard copy. Please print out the page with the confirmation information or write down the confirmation number for your reference. Should you provide an email address on the application, you will receive a confirmation email regarding the reassignment application.
  • If you are submitting a reassignment application based upon military status, you will need to submit official U.S. military documentation and identification confirming your active-military status to the Demographics & Student Assignments Department at the time of application.
  • Once you have submitted the completed application you will receive a letter via US Mail from the Demographics & Student Assignments Department regarding the status of your reassignment application within two weeks of applicatin submission.
  • Parents/legal guardians, who receive an approved reassignment letter, will contact the approved reassignment school in order to establish a date/time to register. Please note that during the summer, the school will have limited staff. You will need to contact the school to determine the documents that will be needed to complete registration process. You must bring the reassignment approval letter with you to register at the school.
