New Programs in the 2018/19 School Year for Upcoming 9th Graders

Applications are now being accepted for two new programs in the 2018/19 school year for upcoming 9th graders: #theCUBE BCPS @ Stranahan High School and Gifted Academy @ Plantation High School. Please see below for program descriptions, applications and contact information.

#theCUBEBCPS @ Stranahan High School is a school within a school model offering students an entrepreneurial experience with:
  • Customized curriculum
  • Redesigned learning labs
  • Industry certifications
  • College credits and scholarships
Only 200 seats are available for this new, customized school for incoming ninth and tenth-grade students.
There are no academic requirements. Interested students may apply for entry into the program.
Parents of students who reside within of the Stranahan High School boundary and are interested in the #theCUBE BCPS Program may apply for entry into the program using the Stranahan Student Interest Form.
Parents of students who reside outside of the Stranahan High School boundary and are interested in the #theCUBE BCPS Program may apply for entry into Stranahan High School using a reassignment application. An approval for reassignment does not guarantee placement into the program. Once the reassignment is granted, please contact the Stranahan High School for information on how to participate in the #theCUBE BCPS program.

Gifted students have unique academic and affective needs. Administrators and teachers at Gifted Academy support a philosophy that acknowledges the need for and provision of a highly engaging and challenging academic learning environment. To meet these needs the academy provides specialized programming tailored to meet the personal learning goals for each individual student.
Individual and small group programming for gifted students is provided in every classroom and at every level and reflects the multiple talents, challenges and cultural diversity of the district’s population.
Students must meet the gifted eligibility requirements and have a current Education Plan (EP) to apply.
