How to Apply for Broward County School Choice

Starting with the 2017/18 school year, every Florida school district must have a "controlled open enrollment plan", which allows students to enroll in any school in the state that has not reached capacity. Broward County Public Schools already has a controlled open enrollment plan in place through the School Choice process.
If you are not a Broward County resident and would like for your child to attend one of Broward County public elementary, middle or high schools, please download the appropriate School Choice applications below. Upon receipt of your paper application, a Student Identification Number will be created for your child. You will receive a confirmation email once your application has been entered into our system.

Please submit your School Choice application form and any required documents to the Demographics & Student Assignments Department prior to the application deadline, September 1, 2017, using one of the following methods:

Application Status Notification

Parents will be notified on scheduled selection dates, regarding the status of each application. Notifications will be emailed, updated on the Check Your Status webpage and delivered via the U.S. Postal Service. All awarded seats must be claimed by the date indicated on the award notification and on the Check Your Status webpage.
