The Eagles lost their last regular season game of the year falling to the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders 3-2 Thursday night.  The Raiders took control early scoring a run in the top of the 1st to take an early 1-0 lead.  The Eagles answered right back in the bottom of the 1st tying the score at 1-1 on an RBI single by Junior Adam Kam.  The Raiders regained the lead in the 3rd on a two-run homerun.  The Eagles loaded the bases with no outs in the 5th, but they only managed to score one run.  Sophomore William Rudolph singled home a run to cut the lead to 3-2.  The Eagles managed to get two runners on in the 7th with only one out but couldn't get the big hit.  Junior Steve Colangelo (3-4) took the loss on the mound.  The Eagles start post season play on Tuesday.  They await the Coconut Creek vs Deerfield Beach winner at 7:00pm at Piper High School.

The Eagles won their 3rd straight game defeating the Western Wildcats 13-9 Tuesday afternoon.  The Wildcats opened the scoring plating a run in the top of the 1st inning to take an early 1-0 lead.  The Eagles put a 4 spot on the board in the 2nd inning.  The inning was highlighted by Sophomore Daniel Agostinelli.  In his first Varsity plate appearance, Agostinelli sent 3-2 pitch on top of the batting cages in right field for a 2-run homerun to give the Eagles a 4-1 lead.  The lead quickly disappeared in the 3rd when the Wildcats hit a 2-out 3-run homerun to tie the game at 4-4.  The Wildcats took the lead in the 4th scoring 2 runs to make the score 6-4.  The Eagles regained the lead in the bottom of the 4th scoring 4 runs.  Junior Zach Davis highlighted the inning with a 2-run single.  The Eagles extended their lead in the 5th when Junior Adam Kam socked his first homerun of the season to make the score 10-6.  The Willdcats cut into the lead with a run in the top of the 6th, but the Eagles would add 3 more insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th to extend the lead to 13-6.  The Wildcats homered in the 7th to cut the lead to 13-9 but would get no closer.  Five Eagle pitchers combined to strikeout 17 Wildcat batters.  Junior Adam Kam (5-3) picked up the win on the mound pitching 1/3 inning of relief.  The Eagle's final regular season contest will be Thursday at 3:45pm against the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders at MSD.

The Eagles defeated the Cypress Bay Lightning 6-1 on Saturday in a preview of a possible Regional matchup.  The Eagles came out smoking scoring all 6 runs in the 1st inning.  The Eagles put together 7 hits including 2 doubles and a triple.  Junior Zach Davis drove in the 1st run with an RBI triple.  Junior Max Matra followed with a double to make it 2-0.  Three batters later with the bases loaded, Junior Billy Miller doubled home another two runs to make the score 5-0.  The Eagles would add another run to make the score 6-0.  The Eagle's offense then went on cruise control.  Junior Craig Warner (2-1) pitched a complete game to earn the win on the mound.  He scattered 5 hits, struckout 3, and walked only 1 batter.  The Eagles next play the Western Wildcats on Tuesday at 3:45pm at MSD.

The Eagles ended their regular season district play with a win over the Plantation Colonels 10-0 Thursday afternoon.  The Eagles jumped out early scoring 2 first inning runs.  Junior Adam Kam singled home two runs to give the Eagles an early 2-0 lead.  The Eagles extended the lead to 4-0 in the 4th.  In the 5th the Eagles put the game out of reach plating 5 runs. The inning was highlighted by Senior Matt Holsman's RBI triple.  The Eagles plated their 10th run in the 6th which ended the game because of the mercy rule.  Junior Adam Kam (4-3) earned the win on the mound.   In 5 innings of work, he struck out 5 batters, scattered 3 hits, and did not allow a run.  The Eagles next play the Cypress Bay Lightening on Saturday at 11am at MSD.

The Eagles lost a heartbreaker on Wednesday to the Jupiter Warriors 3-2.  The Eagles took a 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning.  Junior Chase Greene delivered a 2 out single to plate the first 2 runs of the game.  The Eagles took the 2-0 lead into the 6th when things fell apart.  The Warriors pushed across two runs to tie the score at 2-2.  In the 7th the Eagles walked the leadoff batter.  The next batter layed down a sacrifice bunt that was thrown away and the winning run scored all the way from 1st base.  Junior Craig Warner (1-1) took the loss on the mound for the Eagles.  The Eagles next play the  Plantation Colonels on Thursday at MSD.

The Eagles were able to end the Nova Tournament with a win over the Coral Springs Colts 9-4 in a consolation game.  The Colts opened the scoring with a run in the bottom of the 1st inning.  The Eagles tied the score at 1-1 in the 2nd on an RBI double by Junior Brian Horsford.  A two-run home by the Colts in the 3rd made the score 3-1.  In the 4th Junior Brian Horsford doubled home another run to cut the deficit to 3-2.  The Eagles broke it open in the 5th plating 5 runs.  The inning was highlighted by an RBI double by Sophomore William Rudolph.  The Eagles tacked on two more insurance runs in the 6th to extend the lead to 9-3.  Junior Adam Kam highlighted the 6th with an RBI single.  Junior Steve Colangelo (3-3) earned the win pitching 3 scoreless innings of relief.  The Eagles next play Jupiter High School on Wednesday at 3:30pm at Roger Dean Stadium.

The Eagles lost for the 2nd game in a row falling to the Goleman Gators 10-5 in a consolation game of the Nova Tournament.  The Eagles fell behind early allowing 2 runs to score in the first inning without allowing a hit.  A two-out error in the 3rd made it 3-0.  The Eagles pushed across a run in the 3rd to cut the deficit to 3-1.  In the 5th the Eagles allowed another 4 runs to cross the plate which were aided by 5 walks.  In the bottom of the 5th, the Eagle bats woke up.  The Eagles put together 4 hits and scored 4 runs of their own.  Junior Chase Greene highlighted the inning with a base hit that scored 2 runs.  However, in the 6th the Gators put the game out of reach with a 3-run homerun to make the score 10-5.  Junior Billy Miller (1-1) took the loss allowing 4 ER in 4 innings of work.  The Eagles next play the Coral Springs Colts in another consolation game of the Nova Tournament on Thursday at 10am at Western High School.

Eagles Lose Heartbreaker to Mavericks 4-3

The Eagles blew a 3-run lead and lost to the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks 4-3 in the quarterfinals of the Nova Tournament.  The Eagles jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with two 1st inning runs.  They extended the lead to 3-0 in the 3rd when Junior Adam Kam delivered an RBI double.   Things fell apart for the Eagles in the bottom of the 3rd.  Three walks, an infield error, and a wild pitch allowed the Mavericks to tie the game at 3-3.  The score stayed tied until the bottom of the seventh.  After a one-out walk, the Eagles allowed the runner to advance to 3rd base on two miscues in the infield.  The Eagles then intentionally walked the next two batters to load the bases and set up for the double play.  The next batter grounded a ball in the infield, and the Eagles appeared to turn the double play to get out of the jam.  However, the field umpire ruled the first baseman to pull his foot allowing the winning run to score for the Mavericks.  Junior Steve Colangelo (2-3) took the loss on the mound even though he allowed only 1 hit in 4 innings of work.  The Eagles next play the Goleman Gators in a consolation game in the Nova Tournament.

The Eagles defeated the Hollywood Hills Spartans in the opening round of the Nova Spring Break Tournament.  Things didn't start well for the Eagles as they gave up two runs in the top of the 1st inning.  However, the Eagles got those runs right back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st.  Junior Chase Greene doubled home a run, and Sophomore William Rudolph hit a sacrifice fly to even the score at 2-2. The Eagles fell behind again 3-2 giving up a run in the 3rd.  The Eagles took the lead for the first time in the 5th plating four runs.  Sophomore William Rudolph smoked a single past the 3rd baseman that scored the tying and go ahead runs.  Junior Max Matra followed with a single scoring two more runs giving the Eagles a 6-3 lead that they wouldn't relinquish.  Junior Adam Kam (3-3) pitched 4 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.  The Eagles take on the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks in the quarterfinals at 7pm at Nova HS.

The Eagles took one on the chin Wednesday night losing to the Coral Glades Jaguars 12-5.   The Eagles got on the board first scoring a run in the 1st inning.  Junior Chase Greene singled home a run to give the Eagles an early 1-0 lead.   In the 3rd the Eagles handed the Jaguars 5 runs.   A passed ball allowed two runs to score, and an outfield error allowed another 3 runs to cross the plate.  The Jaguars extended their lead to 6-1 in the 3rd with a sacrifice fly.  In the 4th, Sophomore William Rudolph hit an inside the park homerun to cut the cut the lead to 6-2.  In the 5th, the Eagles cut the deficit to 6-5.  Junior Chase Greene highlighted the inning with a triple to score two runs.  In the bottom of the 5th, the Jaguars took a 9-5 lead taking advantage of 5 walks and an error to plate 3 runs.  They tacked on 3 more runs in the 6th to extend the lead to 12-5.  In all the Eagles walked 10 batters and committed 4 errors.  Junior Adam Kam (2-3) suffered the loss on the mound.  The Eagles start their Spring Break tournament on Saturday against the Hollywood Hills Spartans at 4pm at Nova HS.

The Eagles rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to defeat the Florida Christian Patriots in a shootout at FIU Monday night.   The Eagles came out swinging scoring 3 runs in the 1st and 4 runs in the 2nd.  Junior Chase Greene delivered the big hit in the 2nd inning with a base loaded double to score two runs.  The Eagles led 7-1 after two innings.  The Patriots scored 3 times in the 3rd to cut the lead to 7-4.  In the bottom of the 3rd, the Eagles loaded the bases with no outs, but only managed one run to extend the lead to 8-4.  The Patriots tied the score 8-8 in the 4th.  A two-out bases loaded error allowed the 4 runs to score.  The Patriots took the lead 9-8 in the 5th on a two-out infield single.  They extended the lead to 10-8 in the 7th on another two-out single.  However the Eagles mounted a rally in the bottom of the 7th.  With two outs and the bases loaded, Junior Adam Kam hit a ground ball to 3rd base.  The throw to first got by the 1st baseman allowing the tieing runs to score.  Then Junior Chase Greene delivered an infield single that allowed the winning run to score.  Junior Billy Miller (1-0)  pitched the 7th to earn the win.  The game lasted 3 hours and 40 minutes.  The Eagles next travel to Coral Glades to take on the Jaguars on Wednesday at 6:30pm.

The Eagles let one slip away Saturday afternoon losing to the South Plantation Paladins 7-6 in 8 innings.  The Paladins scratched across a run in the top of the 1st inning to take an early 1-0 lead.  The Eagles got that run right back in the bottom of the inning on an RBI double by Junior Max Matra.  In the top of the 3rd, the Paladins struck for 4 runs with a grandslam over the batter's eye in centerfield.  The Eagles scored 4 runs of their own in the bottom of the 3rd.  Senior Matt Holsman and Junior Adam Kam each had RBI singles to highlight the 4 run inning.    In the 4th Junior Adam Kam singled home his 2nd RBI of the game to give the Eagles a 6-5 lead.  The Paladins tied the score in the 5th with an RBI single.  In the top of the 8th, the Paladins scratched across the winning run which was aided by 3 Eagle errors in the field.  The Eagles stranded runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the 8th to end the game.  Junior Adam Kam (2-2) took the hard luck loss giving up 1 unearned run in 1 1/3 innings of relief.  The Eagles take on Florida Christian High School (14-1) on Monday at 6:30pm at FIU.

The Eagles clinched the 2nd seed and a bye in the first round of the district tournament  by defeating the Coconut Creek Cougars 6-1 Tuesday afternoon.  The Eagles jumped out early scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning.  Junior Max Matra singled home a pair of runs, then Sophomore William Rudolph followed with a two-run blast over the left field fence.   In the 3rd Junior Craig Warner extended the lead to 5-0 with an RBI single.  The Eagles scored their final run of the game in the 4th when Junior Zach Davis delivered another RBI single.  Junior Adam Kam (2-1) pitched 3 hitless innings to earn his 2nd win of the season.  The Eagles next host the South Plantation Palidans at 11:00 am on Saturday.

The Eagles beat the Flanagan Falcons 5-2 Saturday afternoon in a showdown of two of Broward's top teams.  The Falcons opened the scoring in the top of the 2nd inning with a solo homerun that gave them an early 1-0 lead.  The Eagles answered with a 5 spot in the bottom of the 3rd.  After a walk, a hit batter, and a bunt single, Junior Chase Greene singled home the Eagles first run of the game.  Junior Max Matra followed with a base hit that brought home two more runs.  Two batters later Sophomore William Rudolph singled home another two  runs to extend the Eagle lead to 5-1.  The Falcons cut the lead to 5-2 in the top of the 4th scoring an unearned run.  There would be no more scoring in the game.  Junior ace Steve Colangelo (2-2) pitched 6 brilliant innings to earn the win.  He struckout 9 batters, scattered 3 hits, and allowed only 1 unearned run against one of the best hitting teams in the county.  Junior Billy Miller pitched the 7th to earn his 2nd save of the year.  The Eagles next host the Coconut Creek Cougars on Tuesday at 3:45pm.

The Eagles are back in the win column after defeating the Piper Bengals 2-0 Thursday night in a district contest.  The Eagles jumped out early plating both runs in the top of the 1st inning.  Juniors Max Matra and Eric Donnelly each hit a sacrifice fly to drive in both of the Eagle's runs.  That was all of the runs the Eagles would put on the board, but that was all they would need.   Junior Craig Warner (1-0) pitched a complete game shutout to earn his first win of the season.  He scattered 3 hits and struckout 5 batters in 7 innings of work.  The Eagles next take on the Flanagan Falcons on Saturday at 11am at Douglas High School.

The Eagles dropped their first district contest of the season falling to the Taravella Trojans 3-0.  The game was scoreless for the first 4 innings.  The Eagles had a couple of opportunities to score early, but baserunning miscues ended both threats.  The Trojans were able to push across 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th with only one ball leaving the infield.  The Eagles threatened in the 7th loading the bases, but couldn't get the big hit.  Junior Steve Colangelo (1-2) took the loss even though he allowed only one run in 4 innings of work.  The Eagles travel on Thursday to Piper High School to take on the Bengals for a 6:30pm district contest.

The Eagles remain perfect in district play (4-0) by defeating the Deerfield Beach Bucks 9-1 Tuesday afternoon.  The Eagles opened the scoring in the bottom of the 2nd inning with 2 runs.  Junior Mike Sonn hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the first run.   The Bucks scratched across a run in the 3rd with their own sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 2-1.  The Eagles extended the lead to 3-1 in the 3rd when Junior Max Matra drove in another run with another sacrifice fly.   The Eagles would break it open in the 4th scoring 5 runs to extend the lead to 8-1.  They would add another run in the 6th to make the score 9-1 and that's how the game finished.  Junior Adam Kam (1-1) pitched 5 innings allowing only one unearned run to earn the win.  He scattered 5 hits and struck out 4 batters.  Next up for the Eagles is a showdown with their district rival, The Taravella Trojans.  The battle starts at 6:30pm on Friday at  Taravella High School.

The Eagles earned their 3rd straight victory with a come from behind win against the Wellington Wolverines in 10 innings Saturday afternoon.  It was a total team effort for the Eagles.  The Eagles used 6 different pitchers and 13 different batters made an appearance in this well played game.  The Eagles opened the scoring in the bottom of the 1st plating a run to take a 1-0 lead.  Wellington evened the score in the top of the 2nd scoring a run to put the score at 1-1.  Wellington scored another run in the top of the 5th on a sacrifice fly.  In the bottom of the 5th, Junior Chase Greene hit a sacrifice fly to even the score at 2-2.  There wouldn't be anymore scoring until the top of the 10th when Wellington hit a 1 out solo homerun to take a 3-2 lead.  In the bottom of the 10, Junior Adam Kam singled to start the inning.  Then Junior Max Matra tripled into the right field corner to tie the game at 3-3.  Three batters later Junior Anthony Martin delivered a pinch hit single to score the winning run and give the Eagles a 4-3 win.  Junior Nate Kowal (2-0) struck out the final batter in the top of the 10th to earn his 2nd win of the season.  The Eagles next take on the Deerfield Beach Bucks at 3:45pm on Tuesday afternoon.

The Eagles remain undefeated in district play (3-0) after defeating the Boyd Anderson Cobras 12-0 Thursday afternoon.  Junior Brian Horsford smoked an RBI double in the 1st inning to give the Eagles an early 1-0 lead.  The Eagles would bang out 11 more runs over the next 4 innings.  Four Eagle pitchers would combine for a perfect game.  Senior Tucker Donahue started for the Eagles on the mound and earned the win.  In his 1st appearance of the season, he struck out all 6 batters he faced.  Fellow seniors John Depersio and John Davis and Junior Nate Kowal all pitched perfect relief.  The Eagles next play at home against Wellington High School on Saturday at 2pm.

The Eagles improved their district record to 2-0 by defeating the Coral Springs Colts 7-2 Tuesday night.  The Eagle's offense got started early scoring 3 runs in the top of the 2nd inning, highlighted by an RBI single by Senior Matt Holsman.  The Colts pushed across a run in the bottom of the 5th to cut the lead to 3-1.  However, the Eagles got that run right back in the top of the 6th on an RBI single by Junior Chase Greene.  The Eagles would add 3 more insurance runs in the top of the 7th.  Junior Steve Colangelo earned the win on the mound.  He allowed only one hit and struck out 4 batters in 4 1/3 innings of brilliant relief.   The Eagles travel to Boyd Anderson High School on Thursday to take on the Cobras at 3:45pm.

Eagles Slammed by Patriots 8-2

The Eagles lost their 3rd game of the season falling to the American Heritage Patriots 8-2.  After 3 scoreless innings, the Patriots struck first plating a run in the top of the 4th.  Then in the 5th, the Patriots broke it open with back to back homeruns, a grand slam followed by a solo shot giving the Patriots a 6-0 lead.   The Eagles would cut into the lead in the bottom of the 5th.  Junior Zack Davis hit a solo homerun, and then Senior Matt Holsman delivered an RBI single to make the score 6-2.  That was as close as the Eagles would get.  In the top of the 7th, the Patriots tacked on two insurance runs to extend the lead to 8-2.  Junior Steve Colangelo took the loss even though he allowed only 1 run in two solid innings of relief.  The Eagles next travel to Coral Springs High School to take on the Colts on Tuesday at 6:30pm.

Eagles Beat Tigers 26-0

The Eagles won their 2nd consecutive and 1st district game of the season beating the helpless Ely Tigers 26-0.  The Eagles hit 3 homeruns in the game giving them 8 total for the season in just 4 games.  Freshman Tyler Greene smacked the first homerun of the game in the 1st inning, an opposite field shot giving the Eagles an early 2-0 lead.  In the 2nd inning, Juniors Joel Espinal and Zack Davis went back to back extending the Eagles lead to 5-0.  The Eagles would tack on 21 more runs over the next two innings mostly on BB's and a few hits.  Junior Nate Kowal started on the mound for the Eagles and picked up the win.  The Eagles next take on the #1 team in the country, the American Heritage Patriots, on Saturday at noon at MSD.

The Eagles won their first game of the season, but it wasn't easy in an 8-7 victory over the Chaminade Lions in a consolation game of the Flanagan Early Bird Tournament.  The Eagles got on the board first in the top of the 2nd inning plating 5 runs on 3 homeruns.  Junior Craig Warner hit a 2 run shot, and then Seniors Daniel Fam and Brad Terboss went back to back to give the Eagles an early 5-0 lead.  Things fell apart for the Eagles in the bottom of the 4th.  Several miscues in the field led to 7 Chaminade runs which gave the Lions a 7-5 lead.  The Eagles were able to scratch across a run in the 6th to cut the deficit to 7-6.  Down by one run in the 7th, the Eagles mounted a rally.  With one out Junior Adam Kam doubled.  After a strikeout and an intentional walk, Junior Brian Horsford lined a ball up the middle that was mishandled by the 2nd baseman allowing the tieing run to score.  Then Junior Craig Warner singled home the go ahead run to give the Eagles an 8-7 lead.  Junior Brandon McShane (1-0)  pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.  Junior Billy Miller pitched the 7th to earn the save.

Eagles Fall To Their Rival 7-3

The Eagles dropped their 2nd straight game losing to their rival the Taravella Trojans 7-3 in the 2nd round of the Flanagan Tournament.  Things looked promising for the Eagles in the top of the 1st when they pushed across a run.  Junior Adam Kam singled home a run to give the Eagles a 1-0 advantage.  The Trojans answered right back with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st to take a 2-1 lead.  The Eagles tied the game in the top of the 4th on an RBI single by Junior Chase Green.  However the Trojans broke the game open plating 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th to take a 7-2 lead.  Sophomore William Rudolph hit a solo homerun in the top of the 7th to cut the lead to 7-3, but that was as close as the Eagles would get.  Junior George Schureck (0-1) took the loss on the mound for the Eagles.  The Eagles next play the Chaminade Lions in a consolation game on Saturday at 1pm at Flanagan High School.

The Eagles opened the regular season with a 6-4 loss to the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders in the opening round of the Flanagan Tournament. St. Thomas struck first in the top of the 2nd inning plating 3 runs off Junior Steve Colangelo. The Eagles answered right back with 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd. Junior Chase Greene singled home a pair of runs to cut the lead to 3-2. The Raiders extended the lead to 4-2 in the top of the 5th, but Junior Max Matra tied the score with a towering 2-run homerun in the bottom of the 5th. The Raiders took the lead for good in the top of the 6th with a 2 out single, and then plated an insurance run in the top of the 7th to take a 6-4 lead. Junior Adam Kam (0-1) took the loss for the Eagles pitching 2 2/3 innings of relief. The Eagles next play their rival the Taravella Trojans in the next round of the tournament.
