PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The essence of Technology Education within Broward Schools lies in empowering students to engage in the creative human process of bringing about positive change or exercising responsible control over the environment. This process is systematic and involves the application of knowledge in a variety of disciplines.

This opportunity is being provided through the recent conversion of existing Industrial Arts labs at both the high school and middle school levels, to state-of-the-art Technology labs. These labs incorporate the latest examples of technology-based equipment, computers and software. Students are immersed in fields that utilize Computer-Aided Design, 3D Modeling and Computer Numerical Control within their manufacturing procedures. Additionally, a variety of processes in the field of communications are explored. These include Graphic Presentation, Web Design, Radio Broadcasting and Video Production. Courses are designed to offer students the opportunity to explore various career fields. They are encouraged to develop occupational goals and plan a successful path to accomplish these goals.
