Marketing Education
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The
purpose of Marketing Education Programs is to prepare
students for employment or advanced training in the
marketing and sales industry. Career preparatory programs
included in this cluster are the Academy of Entrepreneurship,
Academy of Fashion Marketing, Academy of Finance, Academy
of Sport, Recreation and Entertainment Marketing and
Marketing Management. The Academy of Finance and Academy of Hospitality and Tourism Programs are member programs of
the National Academy Foundation. As a result of the
rigorous academic standards required for the completion
of the Academy of Finance and Marketing Management Programs
students may earn Honors points.
All of the aforementioned
programs focus on broad, transferable skills and stress
understanding and demonstration of the following elements
of the marketing industry: planning; management; finance;
technical and production skills; underlying principles
of technology; labor issues; community issues; and health,
safety, and environmental issues. DECA is the relevant
career and technical student organization.
