Industrial Education
PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Industrial Education provides individuals with the knowledge and skills required for careers in transportation, communications, construction and manufacturing and service industries. The programs combine classroom and lab activities to provide related subject theory and hands on experience to industrial applications. Programs are offered at the secondary and postsecondary levels and are aligned to industry validated standards.

A recommended sequence of study covering extensive knowledge in a field of specialization is required for completion of an Industrial Education program. Cooperative Education may be available for qualified students to gain experience on the job while continuing their studies. SkillsUSA is the Industrial Education Career/Technical Student Organization. Participation in skills and leadership events at the regional, state, and national levels provide students the opportunity to improve skills and assess their progress against students in similar programs. Students are prepared for high wage, high skill careers upon completion of an Industrial Education program.
