PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Agriscience and Natural Resources programs in Broward County have recently undergone a metamorphosis into a series of highly developed science-based programs. Through the exploration of current high-wage fields, such as Aquaculture and Hydroponics in the advanced levels of curriculum, students are exposed to "state-of-the-art" industry-based practices. The labs incorporate the latest examples of technology-related equipment, including the use of job-specific computers, software and machinery. Students are immersed in fields that utilize computer-aided design (relating to landscape architecture), as well as industry-based equipment and machinery within their daily classroom procedures. Additionally, a variety of processes intended to assist in relaying both written and verbal communication are investigated.

This program is designed to offer students the opportunity to preview various career fields within this growing job market, nationally. They are encouraged to develop occupational goals and plan a successful path to accomplish these goals.
