GED
GED programs prepare students
for academic and personal success through obtaining
the necessary skills required to pass the Official GED
Test and be awarded a State of Florida High School Diploma.
This program strives to motivate students not only to
obtain a GED, but also to utilize the acquired skills
in the workforce and to achieve career and vocational
training and job placement success.
GED
Online
GED Online is designed to prepare
students for academic and personal success through obtaining
a State of Florida High School Diploma. This program
strives to reach those students who cannot make it to
regularly scheduled classes due to work or family obligations,
transportation problems, and/or health issues, etc.
GED Online offers students the opportunity to learn
anytime, anywhere and is available 24 hours a day, 7
days a week, 365 days a year. It is open-entry/open-exit,
with self-paced instruction. Students are able
to obtain support from an instructor via phone, email,
internet chats, instant messaging, and whiteboard sessions.
Registration for GED Online can be done at any of the
adult centers, technical centers or community schools
throughout Broward County. For a list of schools,
visit www.browardeducator.com or download a copy of
the GED Online Brochure found below.
Once at the school, a potential GED Online student
will be given a placement test on which he or she must
score at least a 9th grade level in reading. Once
the required reading score is verified, the student
will be asked to fill out a registration form and to
give a valid email address. Students will be notified
via email when they've been enrolled in the course and
will be given specific information about how to access
the GED Online program. From there, GED Preparation
is all online. Or, students can be dual enrolled, attending
traditional GED classes while also participating in
GED Online.
