Students who have earned 14 high school credits will be eligible for admission into The College Academy based on the following criteria which include all approved dual enrollment requirements:
  • Classified as a high school junior by June 2004
  • Pre-admission testing:
v     Meet score requirements on appropriate subsections of the CPT:
      • Reading - 83
      • Writing - 83
      • Elementary Algebra - 90

OR

v     score 440 or above on the verbal, 440 or above on the reading, and 490 or above on the mathematics sections of the SAT

OR

v     score 17 or above on the English, 18 or above on the reading, and 19 or above on the mathematics sections of the ACT.

  • 3.0 unweighted grade point average
  • Teacher recommendation
  • Guidance Counselor recommendation
  • Personal handwritten essay
  • Successfully complete two years of academic core courses by the end of 10th grade including Geometry, Personal Fitness, Health / Life Management Skills, and two years of one Foreign Language
  • Receive a passing score on the FCAT
