Francophone World – Oui! is a five-week course that explores France and the other countries around the world that speak French.  This course provides a brief overview of each country and shows how the French language and culture have influenced these regions.

Duration: 5 weeks

Syllabus

Participants will lean about the Francophone World.  Each week will uncover the history, culture and French influence for each of the following specific countries and continent.

Week 1: France and Europe

Week 2: Africa

Week 3: Americas

Week 4: Asia

Week 5: United States

Specific Objectives

Participants will:

  • gain an understanding of the Francophone World
  • learn about the history of France
  • learn about the French culture's influence on the rest of the world

Implementation

Evidence that course content has been transferred to daily instruction might include:

  • Understanding the Francophone World
  • Learning about France's cultural influences on the rest of the world
  • Recognize the role France played in United State's history and today's culture
  • Appreciate the different adaptation of the France language and culture round the globe
