  1. Are online classes accredited?
    Broward Virtual University only hosts courses that are part of the State approved Broward County In-service Plan.

  2. How much do online courses cost?
    Broward Virtual University online courses are FREE of charge to employees of the School Board of Broward County, Broward Charter School employees and employees at participating Title IIA schools. Non Broward employees pay $4.00 per inservice point. Please note that some courses have a required textbook/materials that can be purchased from BVU.

  3. How do I purchase the book needed for the course?
    There is an order form on our website sbbc-vu.com that will list the course title and the book cost. You can pony a check to BVU at HRD - Portable B with your order or call 754.321.5053 and purchase with a credit card.

  4. Is there a tutorial that I can take before starting the course?
    You can select the "Getting Started" tutorial from our websites front page. We recommend that you view this before the course begins.

  5. Can I cancel a course?
    Yes, you can cancel a course, but not within the fourteen days prior to the start date.

  6. Can I register for more than one course at a time?
    Yes, you can take more than one course at time.

  7. Do I have to log on everyday?
    No. Each course has weekly assignments and discussion questions that need to be completed and according to the course time line.

  8. How will I know what to do?
    You will receive an email from a Broward Virtual University facilitator about one week before the course is set to begin. That email will contain all of the necessary information. This email will be sent to the email address you listed on the registration page.

  9. What do I do if I have to withdraw from the course once it begins?
    If you need to drop the course once it has started, please contact your facilitator and they will withdraw you.

  10. How do I apply to become an online facilitator?
    There are four critical requirements in order to be an Online Course Facilitator.
    1. You must have been a stellar participant and successfully completed the online course you would like to facilitate.
    2. Within 6 months of your course completion date, you will need to secure a recommendation from your facilitator and your current administrator.
    3. You will need to attend a BVU facilitator training.
    4. You will need to have your own computer, internet provider with high speed internet access and time each day to dedicate to facilitating an online course.
