Art & Beyond: Elementary more information

This course provides a variety of teaching strategies that demonstrate how art lessons can be interdisciplinary while still including art appreciation, art history, and the principles of design. Meaningful connections between art and other subject areas will enrich, extend, and strengthen student learning. This course is designed for elementary art teachers but the content can be modified to meet the needs of students at any level.

Art for the Primary Childmore information

This course develops understanding of how a young child creates, experiences, and understands art. Activities that positively impact art development in young children are included in the course.

Reading for the "Specials"more information

This course is designed for elementary art, music and physical education teachers to help them implement reading strategies appropriate to their content area.  Participants will be exposed to strategies that can be used daily in their content area.

Understanding NGSSS: The Artsmore information

Participants will engage in a four week online course. They will receive in depth training on the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for the Arts. Participants will learn about the five Big Ideas and Enduring Understandings that impact and guide delivery of instruction in new ways. Participants will “unpack” the benchmarks in their content area to develop a deeper understanding of the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards in the Arts.
