Incentive Awards

The School Board of Broward County provides Incentive Awards for teachers who take courses or earn inservice points following their last degree (Bachelor's or Master's degree only). Teachers holding a Specialist or Doctorate degree are not eligible.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
If you hold the Basic Incentive and have now earned a Master’s Degree, you will lose the Basic Incentive and, instead, begin payment for the Master’s Stipend. Once you earn 15 semester hours and/or 300 inservice points beyond the Master’s Degree, you will be eligible to reapply for the Basic Incentive.

To receive the incentive, you must be a part of the teacher bargaining unit, have completed three years of consecutive full-time teaching in Broward (does not include private and charter schools), and hold a five-year professional certificate.

If you terminate your employment with the district and subsequently return, your entitlement will NOT automatically be reinstated.

Note: The Request for Payment of an Incentive form is a pdf document and may be completed on screen prior to printing or may be printed and then completed for submission. If completing the form on screen please note that you will be required to create an electronic signature file when you reach the signature field. This is required to ensure an authenticated electronic signature that is password protected. If you elect to skip the electronic signature, please print out the form and sign it prior to submission. The form cannot be submitted electronically and must be submitted in hard copy form.
