(Choice #1) Create a graphic organizer of 5 most common disabilities,  what are the barriers to academic achievement of each, and a teaching strategy to overcome each of those barriers.

(Choice #2) Watch the short video of Mattie Stepanek, then write a word-processed document that answers the questions below.
1. Do you believe that Mattie is a gifted student?
2. Discuss why you think Mattie is or is not a gifted student with disabilities.
3. What would your initial reaction have been if Mattie had been placed in your room?
4. What types of accommodations would you make to ensure that Mattie was being challenged academiacally while still ensuring that his medical needs were addressed?
