Choose a student in your class that you believe could qualify for the gifted program under Plan B. Complete the Gifted Indicators Checklist, Underrepresented Student Traits Indicators Checklist. Gather assessment data on this student. Enter this information on the Gifted Eligibility Matrix. The only area that should be left blank is the area regarding intelligence. Write a one page word processed paper that explains why you would or would not recommend this student for testing for the gifted program. Use the data that you collected on the to support your response. Note: Do NOT use the student’s actual name. (Choice #1)
Develop an identification action plan for schools that have large numbers of underrepresented students (ELL or low socioeconomic). Include a flowchart with a 1-2 page Word document explaining and justifying the each step of the process. (Choice #2)
In a one page typed document compare and contrast 3 assessments that are used for gifted identification (i.e. Naglieri, KBIT2, the UNIT and the Raven’s Progressive Matrices. Which tests show the least bias for Plan B students? How do the tests differ from a standard IQ test? Would you recommend the use of partial scores? (Choice #3)
Appropriate conclusions based on the data collected.
